Scheduled backup¶
Scheduled backup enables automatic, recurring backups of your database instance. This feature is available for Professional and Enterprise plan users.
Prerequisites¶
- Your database instance must be on the Professional or Enterprise plan.
- The database instance must be in a running state.
- You have sufficient permissions to perform backup operations.
Enable scheduled backup¶
- Log in to NebulaGraph Cloud and navigate to your project.
- In the left navigation pane, click Backup under your database instance.
- Toggle the Scheduled Backup switch to enable automatic backups. The toggle is enabled by default.
- Click Edit to edit the scheduled backup settings as needed.
Edit scheduled backup settings¶
- In the Backup page, locate the scheduled backup information displayed below the toggle switch.
- Click the Edit link next to the "Next Scheduled Backup" timestamp.
- Configure the backup policy as needed.
- Click Confirm to apply the changes.
Configure backup policy¶
When editing scheduled backups, you can configure the following parameters:
- Backup frequency: Specify how often backups should be created. You can set the interval in days (e.g., every 1 day, every 7 days) and the time of day when the backup should run.
- Backup time: Select the time when the scheduled backup should start. Choose a time during low-traffic periods to minimize the impact on database performance.
- Backups retained (days): Specify how long backups should be retained before automatic deletion, up to 90 days. For example, setting this value to 7 means backups older than 7 days will be automatically deleted.
Example configuration:
- Every 1 Day at 02:00
- Backups retained: 7 days
- Next Scheduled Backup: 2026/2/10 00:00:00 After configuring the backup policy, click Confirm to save your settings.
Note
Please avoid write operations during the backup period to ensure data consistency.
Disable scheduled backup¶
To stop automatic backups, toggle the Scheduled Backup switch to the off position. Existing backups will be retained until their expiration date.
